Audition

Last Saturday, I went for an audition.

The band The Fluids, who I know through the friend of a friend, have recently lost their guitarist and were looking for a replacement; I thought it was worth giving it a shot, even though I am well aware that my credibility as a guitarist is close to zero.

What I didn't expect, though, is that the band didn't even pretend.

So the audition was at Transmission Studios, near Belsize Park. Which is about 1h 15 from my house. I got there precisely at 4:30, as I was asked to. So I start to install my gear, on my own in the rehearsal room. When I'm set, the band walked in. We play 3 songs. 15 minutes overall.
And then they tell me thanks a lot for coming, see you later, we need to hurry for the rest of the people that are coming. Translate: OK we let you play but now it's time for the real candidates.

Of course, I haven't heard from them since.
