Well, he DID show up! Not only that, but he stayed for almost two hours, hardly leaving the stage at all! He was either singing (he even bothered to do back-up vocals for some songs!!!), playing guitar, keyboards, bass or simply dancing on the stage while the other musicians were playing.
Music-wise, we were treated with Hip-Hop, RnB, Soul, Funk, Rock, Jazz and Disco as the musicians came and went on and off stage as they felt. There were a couple of Prince songs, a few covers (CHIC's Le Freak.... Amazing...) and loads of impros.
As he left the stage, he even gave his guitar to someone in the crowd, which I find an amazing gesture. And it was a Telecaster '52 as well, not some cheap Squier!!! He then went to salute the fans, and I managed to touch his guitar-playing left hand... Never washing hands again ;-)I'm so glad there was not a movie premiere or something more interesting to do that night. And I'm definitely going to the main show now! Review of that next week...
