Shit. Fuck. Crap. Bollocks. Cock.
I have been robbed.
Let me explain you. Calmly.
Some time ago, I found on the Smashing Pumpkins website that their first ever gig since 2000 would be in Paris, at Le Grand Rex. Tickets would be on sale on Wednesday 11th April at 10am sharp.
Le Grand Rex is an awesome venue (I saw Radiohead there in 2000, that was wicked!), very small, so that would be a gig of a lifetime.
On Wednesday, 9am (10am French time) I am online, connecting to the website. And quite predictably, the site has crashed due to overflow. OK, nothing to worry about, it'll be back on anytime soon and I will be able to buy my tickets. So I keep trying to the website.
And I keep trying.
And I keep trying.
And I keep trying.
...
2 hours later, finally, the website is back up, saying that the gig is sold out. Now, what the fuck is that????? I was there on time, stayed in front of my computer, for that? Now I really wondered, how is that possible?
Well as it turned out, tickets were put for sale 2 hours earlier. So I was doomed. And this is fucking WRONG! Because nobody new that apart from people working in record companies, radios and so on.
I could understand that privileged access would be given to fan club members, that would be OK, that's what fan clubs are for. But not that. Now, there are hundreds of tickets on e-bay being sold for hundreds of euros.
Well sod it, it'll be without me. I could pay £100 for a ticket, but I'm just not going to because the very principle pisses me off.
