James Walsh acoustic

Monday night ended with an acoustic performance of James Walsh, Starsailor's singer.

I must admit I quite like Starsailor. OK, they never topped their first album, Love is Here, which itself is not an incredible album. But for some reason I always manage to see these guys play either in festivals or in London, and I am always charmed by their enthousiasm and eagerness to please the fans.

While waiting for the gig to start, it was a little bit surreal: The small crowd was packed in front of the stage, and in the middle of it was James himself, happily chatting with his mates. I must say it really made me feel special! This is what being Paris Hilton must be like. Or maybe not.

Anyway; at some point James walked across the crowd, climbed onstage, picked up his guitar and started playing "Silence is Easy". He had lead problems so it was a bit screwed up, but it doesn't matter as I don't like this song anyway.
Then followed a very short setlist (45mn only), but the guy was full of energy and has an amazing voice. The high point, his rendition of "Fever", was amazing. Also worth noticing, he finished on a new song which sounded really good, and could well be among my favourite Starsailors.

So, as usual, I was seduced by the guy, and sure enough will go see the band next time they play in london. Even if I know very well they will not revolutionize music...
